The people have cast their votes for Colchester's 10th Annual Scarecrow Decorating Contest, produced by the Colchester Business Association (CBA) and Colchester Parks and Recreation Department, and the results have been tallied. Voting took place online at www.cba.bz, as well as at sponsor businesses all over town. All winners will receive gift certificates to the CBA business of their choice.
The winning scarecrow scenes in the Individual/Family category: 1st place - "ET Phone Home" by the Reilly family; 2nd place - "Fishing Frenzy" by the Wyatt family; and 3rd place - "Birthday Girl" by the Mccoy family.
The winning scarecrow scenes in the Business category: 1st place - " Colchester 's Best Dance Crew" by Doreen's Dance Center; and 2nd place - "Save the Ta Ta’s" by Shattered Endz Hair Salon.
The winning scarecrow scenes in the Adult Organization category: 1st place - "Alive @ Your Library" by the Friends of Cragin Library; and 2nd place - "Ghost Chat New England: History, Mystery, Legends and Ghosts (C) TV Show" by Ghost Chat.

The scarecrow scenes were on display at the Colchester Town Green for almost the entire month of October. The event is produced by the CBA and Colchester Parks & Recreation with the purpose of creating a festive fall atmosphere to be enjoyed by the town and to promote and encourage community sprit in Colchester.
