Local Business Members To Learn About Social Media

The Colchester Business Association (CBA) will hold its next dinner meeting on Tuesday, February 2, from 6-8 p.m. at S&S Worldwide located at 75 Mill Street Colchester. James Nicolas and Matt Barnes from Easywebcreations.com will present Social Media and New Marketing Venues. The discussion will include topics such as Facebook, email marketing, and Google Ad Words, and why these new markets should not be ignored. Anyone interested in learning more about the CBA is invited to attend. CBA members, local businesses, and guests are also invited to join the meeting.

The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with a social and networking hour. Dinner will be available at 7:00 p.m. It will be catered by Family Pizza. Attendees will enjoy a cheese, pepperoni, and cracker appetizer platter; New York Strip steak with a mushroom demi sauce; roasted red bliss potatoes; grilled mixed vegetables; marble layered cake; assorted rolls; and assorted soft drinks. Please reserve your dinner seat by calling 860-537-0340. RSVP by January 30. The cost is $15 per person. New members receive their first meal for free.

“Join us to learn about Social Media and how it can help your business,” said CBA president Jack Faski. “In this new age of technology there are many new marketing efforts that businesses need to utilize or they will not reach potential customers.”

All attendees will have opportunity to publicly introduce themselves and their companies. There will be brief general CBA updates from board members and staff. Each dinner meeting is made possible partly by donation from a meeting sponsor. Joseph Dias C.P.A. will be this meeting’s sponsor. Dias will give a brief presentation about their services. A gift basket will be raffled off, donated by the meeting’s sponsor. All proceeds from the basket will go towards the CBA Annual Scholarship Fund, which benefits one to two local graduating high school students’ college expenses.

The CBA is designed to promote, support and encourage business development in Colchester.  Their motto is- Shop Colchester First! The association holds monthly meetings, the first Tuesday evening of each month for members to network, learn about business topics and enhance their skills, and for those interested in becoming members to learn more about the association. They produce the Business Showcase, Scarecrow Contest, Tag Sale on the Green and other events. They participate in Santa’s Anonymous and the 57 Fest.
