The purpose and mission of the CBA is:

• To promote and encourage businesses to locate in Colchester
  
• To provide support and assistance to local businesses through such activities as educational seminars, public relations, and sponsoring promotional events
  
• To serve as a liaison between the business community and the local municipal government, its boards, agencies, and commissions
  
• To foster cooperation and to encourage an exchange of ideas among and between local businesses
  
• To foster good relations between the town and the business community
